Febuary 4, 2002 : The New Jersey Devils announced that goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck will come out of retirement

December 15, 2001 : New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur became the 18th goaltender in NHL history, the youngest ever, to record his 300th win, when he recorded a 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Brodeur only needed 547 games to get it. Only Jacques Plante (524) and Andy Moog (543) were faster than him.
