  • The New Jersey Devils assigned Jean-François Damphousse and Frédéric Henry to the Albany River rats of the AHL.
  • The Atlanta Thrashers recalled Scott Fankhouser from the Orlando Solar bears.
  • The Ottawa Senators assigned Mike Fountain to the Grand rapids Griffins.
  • The Montréal Canadiens assigned Eric Fichaud to the Québec Citadelles.

    September 28, 2000 :
  • The Phoenix Coyotes assigned Patrick Desrochers to the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.

    September 27, 2000 :
  • The Boston Bruins have suspended John Grahame indefinitly for braking his ankle outside the rink. It is rumoured that he broke his ankle in a bar.
  • The New York Rangers assigned Johan Holmqvist to the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL and recalled Jason LaBarbera.
  • The Carolina Hurricanes assigned Jean-Marc Pelletier to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the IHL, giving the backup job to Tyler Moss. Pelletier injured his ankle during training camp.

    September 26, 2000 :
  • The New York Islanders have assigned Rick DiPietro to the Chicago Wolves of the IHL. DiPietro's training camp was slowed by a groin injury.
  • Olaf Kolzig underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee Tuesday and will miss the first three weeks of the 2000-01 regular season.
  • John Grahame will be out indefinitly after broking his ankle.

    September 25, 2000 :
  • The St.Louis Blues assigned Dwayne Roloson to the Worcester Ice cats of the AHL.
  • The Anaheim Mighty ducks assigned Gregg Naumenko to the Cincinnati Mighty ducks of the AHL.
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to terms with restricted free agent Jean-Sébastien Aubin to a one-year contract.

    September 23, 2000 :
  • The Ottawa Senators assigned Mathieu Chouinard to the Grand rapids Griffins.

    September 22, 2000 :
  • The San Jose Sharks agreed to terms with Steve Shields to a one-year contract with a team option for the next one.
  • The Colorado Avalanche assigned Philippe Sauvé and Frédéric Cassivi to the Hershey Bears, meaning that David Aebischer will be Roy's backup.
  • Stéphane Fiset has been placed on the injured reserved list afetr suffering a sprained left knee. Sidelined week-to-week.

    September 21, 2000 :
  • The Calgary Flames assigned Tyrone Garner, Sean Matile, Dany Sabourin and Levente Szuper to the St.John Flames of the AHL.
  • The Nashville Predators assigned Brian Finley to his junior team and Jan Lasak to the Milwaukee Admirals.
  • Toronto Maple leafs' Jimmy Waite suffered from vertigo, sidelined day-to-day.

    September 19, 2000 :
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins signed free agent Rich Parent to a contract. Parent played 14 games with the Tampa bay Lightning last season.
  • The San Jose Sharks agreed to terms with restricted free agent John Nabokov. Terms where not disclosed.
  • The Anaheim Mighty ducks released from tryout James Jensen.

    September 18, 2000 :
  • The St.Louis Blues assigned Cody Rudkowsky and Curtis Sanford to the Worcester Ice cats of the AHL

    September 16, 2000 :
  • The Atlanta Thrashers assigned Norm Maracle to the Orlando Solar bears of the IHL. Maracle reported to training camp out of shape for the second straight year.

    September 11, 2000 :
  • The Calgary Flames signed Levente Szuper, their 4th round draft pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, to a contract. Terms where not disclosed.
